The sorcerers shortly found themselves back outside the hideout, with Orim and Falvir in a heated discussion about how they would present this idea to Xoran. Varen and Nyra stood off to the side, with Varen examining the sorceress's arm to make sure she was alright. Nyra eventually pulled away, looking a bit shaken. Since she was wearing a black shirt with sleeves that were cut at her elbows, she didn't have anything to cover the spell mark with. She cast a meaningful look at Varen, as though reminding him of her secret. The sorcerer nodded and turned away, approaching Jaclyn. "You alright?" he asked. "The mission's going to have to be held off for now...we'll deal with it later."

Jaclyn blinked, focusing on Varen, and nodded slowly. "Fine," she murmured, frowning slightly.

Falvir and Orim, once the entrance back to the lair had been opened, proceeded to make their way down the long passages. Nyra appeared at Varen's side, smiling despite what had happened. She hid her previous fear behind a mask of apparent content. It was still considerably dark out. "Um..." she murmured. "Why don't we leave the talking to Falvir and Orim?" Varen shrugged. "I'd rather not be around if things don't go the way they wanted it to..."

Jaclyn trailed along behind, a following a few paces after Nyra and Varen. She was only half paying attention to what they were saying. The other part of her mind was working furiously, trying to riddle out the vampires. Culd the one from Traveler's Meet have been one of their group? It was certainly possible. But, what did that mean for this agreement, and her position here?

When the group reached the large wooden doors, Falvir and Orim advanced toward them while Varen and Nyra took a sharp right into one of the branching tunnels that led to the individual rooms. They both glanced back to make sure Jaclyn was following...there wasn't a need for them to be present when Falvir and Orim broke the news to Xoran.

Jaclyn followed behind, frowning at the floor, still deep in thought. She hardly noticed when they turned, and nearly bumped into Varen and Nyra once or twice, but she payed no notice, mind still whirling.

They continued down the winding passageways, the minutes ticking by until they finally reached Varen's room. He led the way inside, followed by Nyra, who simply wandered over and sat on the foot of his bed without waiting for an invitation. "Well, that was interesting," she muttered, watching as Varen seated himself in one of the chairs by the table at the opposite wall. They both looked at Jaclyn, who appeared to be deep in thought. "Are you alright?" she added in a quiet tone.

Jaclyn, who had still been frowning distantly at the floor until that moment, started and jerked her head up. "What?" she blurted out, blinking and shaking her head a bit. "I'm sorry, just got a little... zoned out..."

Nyra tilted her head to the side. "I was just asking if you were alright..." she repeated with a small frown. Varen looked at Jaclyn quizically, but didn't say anything.

Jaclyn shrugged. "I'm fine..."

Nyra didn't believe her, but left the matter where it was. It was quiet for a few moments, except for perhaps the sound of the sorceress's soft humming. Finally, when she seemed to reach the limit of her patience, she stood up. "Well, not like this isn't exciting or anything, but I'd better go and...uh.." she glanced at Varen, remembering the deal she made with him. Perhaps it wasn't a good idea to bring up the topic of Jyrra now, though. "Do something else," she finished lamely, but dismissed it with a wide grin and headed out of the room.

Jaclyn blinked, watching her go with a curious look. When Nyra had gone, she looked back to Varen, seeming a little uncertain. After a moment, she hesitantly made her way over to the bed, sitting in Nyra's spot.

Varen watched Nyra go, then shook his head with a small laugh. "Patience isn't always one of her most valued virtues," he murmured, half to himself. Then he switched his gaze to Jaclyn, and he frowned. "Hey, what's on your mind? Regardless of what you said before, you're obviously not 'fine'..."

jaclyn fidgeted, very conscious of his prying, worried gaze on her. "I... The vampires..." She frowned as well, staring at her shoes. "I think the one that attacked me and Jyrra in Traveler's Meet.. It's got to be from the same group. I'm just wondering... what would happen. If Xoran joined up with them, and I met up with the same one again."

Varen raised his eyebrows...he hadn't been expecting that answer. "You met one before? Wait, that wouldn't happen to be the oneinvolved in the rumor about you knocking one out?"
