The Guardian and her wolf lead the army through the trees, the large company eerily quiet. Stress was a silent, smothering blanket draped over every tense body and stoney face. They followed an invisible path through the trees, passing over small streams and thick bramble bushes and rocky outcrops as they descended the mountain. Soon they reached more level ground, and their pace quickened. Azera was up near the front, along with Shaiala, occasionally sharing a few short words with the elf in a low tone. Aaron was silent ahead of them, but she was listening all the same. Alice walked quietly alongside the other vampires, her pale face somber and even more closely resembling a stone carving. Small lines creased her forehead, and her golden eyes were shadowed.

Not far behind the group were the seperate tribe of elves. They'd arrived earlier at the meeting point to find that Aaron's group had already moved out, and, picking up their pace, resorted to following the tracks left behind to catch up. Mirah and couple others had been sent out slightly ahead to watch for any possible threat, but they fell back with the others as they found fresh tracks to suggest that Aaron's group was very close.
The tribe soon caught up, and while the leader advanced forward toward the front to talk to Aaron, the others fell back and mingled in with the others.

Aleron lingered near the back of the group, hands in his pockets as he walked nonchalantly on. Licia sat on his shoulder, leaning with her back on his neck, arms folded over her chest. She wondered vaguely how long this would take, and why, why, why Aleron wanted to join in this 'war'. He had no reason to. They could've bailed... they could have left! Why, Aleron?! She looked frustrated as her thoughts continued, nose crinkled as she tugged on her bangs. Aleron, apparently, hadn't noticed.

Zer dropped back when the elves arrived, to allow Aaron to speak with the leaders of the other tribes, and fell into step beside Sage and Cayli. She said nothing- there were no words for any of their feelings right then. She glanced toward them, her face creased with anxiety. Her eyes burned, and her hands clenched. Sage returned the glance, and forced a reassuring smile. It wasn't very convincing. He was walking very close to Cayli, Azera noticed. As if she hadn't seen that coming. She'd had a feeling about her two friends for a while now... But nothing too obvious had been shown to prove it until now. Now, they were forced into a desperate situation, and she felt a pang of pity at what the outcome could very easily be...

While the leader of the seperate elf tribe talked with the others up front, Mirah had remained close to her brother and a couple other friends...one reason being that he wouldn't let her out of his sight, and another being that she felt a little out of place, anyway--as most probably did. Cayli, meanwhile, kept pace beside Sage and Zer. The acrobat was obviously a little anxious, stretching as she walked even though she'd already done enough of it. She was anxious due to many factors of course...but what hurt her the most was the very high reality that she would most likely lose some friends. As she glanced at Sage and Azera and behind her at a few of the other performers, that pang hurt her even more.

They were nearing the edge of the forest, and now there were glimpses of the wide open plains that stretched out to the northeast. They slowed a bit, regrouping into more organized sections, making their last preparations. Then the real march would start, the last intake of breath before they plunged neck-deep into the chaos of war.
Alice gave a sharp gasp, and froze completely. Her eyes flickered out of focus for an infinitesimal moment, and then she blinked. "They're on their way back," she murmured in a low, husky voice.

Not too far off, the vamps were on the way back--right at that instant. Ravyre recalled what Aaron had told her, and formed the strong intention to tell her that Jane's and Xoran's army had invaded Tymor. Feren, meanwhile, took up the rear of the group. He could catch scents of a group of vampires not far off--they were spreading into the forest. He picked up the pace to catch up to Ravyre, who was in deep concentration. "They're catching up," he muttered. "We need be with Aaron's group before we're discovered. We'd be badly outnumbered otherwise."

Eden chanced a glance over her shoulder, and shock crossed her face. Her pace faltered slightly, and she blinked, pushing harder to fall back into place in their formation. Her words came in a choked whisper. "There are hundreds of them..."
Alice squeezed her eyes shut. "They'll be here in a few minutes..." Her eyes flashed open again, and she darted ahead to reach Aaron. "Tymor has been invaded. The enemies are spreading out over the plains and forest. Our vampires are coming, but the enemies are right behind them. I don't think the other vampires are aware of our presence yet, but they will be soon." The Guardian nodded, eyes searching the horizon.
The vampires stumbled into the ranks of their allies, and Alice and the others rushed to meet them. "I saw that you were being followed. We are prepared," she informed them. "We will move out to meet them... And then it will begin."

When the vampires reappeared, Ravyre slowed to listen to Alice. She bit her lip slightly, looking out at the army they had, and praying that their number would be enough.
Cayli, more toward the front, caught what Alice said. A couple others aroung did, as well, and the murmurs spread back through the ranks.

Aaron nodded as if to confirm Alice's words, gazing out over the plains to where the enemies were beginning to appear. Small black dots, moving in groups, quickly darting across the plains, in and out of the cover of the trees. "The army is ready. Line up the troupes- we will march to meet them. Send some groups through the forest, and the rest across the plains for a frontal attack." She shouted out the orders, and the figures surrounding her went into a flurry of action, arranging themselves, preparing for the first attack. The Guardian glanced behind, and then raised her weapon- a bone-white spear, gleaming even in the dim light. Nalah stood tall, a menacing, powerful glint in her wise eyes. "Tonight, my loyal troupes, courageous fighters, fearless defenders of our beloved lands, we will battle our way to victory! We will not be taken over by these bloodthirsty ranks of invaders. This land is ours, and we will not go without a fight!" There came a roar of approval from the troupes. She thrust her spear forward, and the wolf beneath her gave a jolt as well, leaping forward a few paces. "Onward, to our victory!"

The deafening roar from those around her made Cayli's head pound slightly, though she joined in, her voice lost in the cheers and chants. She stood ready with the group she'd been assigned to, which consisted of numerous acrobats, shapeshifters, and good lot of battle-ready elves. They were to remain on the plains, where they could fight in the open. A few of the elves would remain there, while a few would head a bit further into the forest to fight in a way they were more accustomed to.
Mirah stood by with the elves that would be headed for the trees--they were given instructions to head futher out to Tymor if need be. Another large group of elves, magic-workers, and some vampires would follow them and then continue directly to Tymor. Leon and Maven would be with the fleet that would head directly to Traveler's Meet to protect the residents there--it had been assumed that the location would become a target. They proceeded forward behind Aaron, prepared to split up when the moment came.

Jaclyn and Jamison were both part of a group that was to stay on the plains, heading up the frontal attack when the two armies first met. They stood close together, both fearful for the other, and still fretting over Nyra's disappearance. Azera was also staying out in the open, leading her own group of fire-spinners-turned--fire-warriors to battle it out and try to reduce the number of vampires. They were all well-trained, knowing what to be wary of, and how to best attack the cold, hard enemies they faced. They all carried a variation of their own performance fire tool, altered into an affective flaming weapon. Zer held two staves in one hand, and was preparing to help the others light up their weapons. They were all soaked in special oils that burned slow and hot, so that their flames wouldn't run out right away. They also all had small cans of the oils, in case the fire did burn out and they were forced to retreat and refuel.
Alice and a few other vampires were heading around through the forest along with some other groups, in an attempt to get to Tymor and stop more troupes from coming out onto the plains, and to keep the enemies already on their way south from retreating back to the fortress-like city. The rest would head out onto the plains to drive the enemies back north.
Sage was staying near Cayli, and he gave a roar along with the rest, clenching his muscles and grinding his teeth. In a few moments, he had shifted into the form of a great wolf, his preferred battle shape. He cast the acrobat a wolfish, toothy grin, tail swishing back and forth in anticipation.

Ravyre and Joren stood ready with Alice, their gazes cast in the direction they would be heading. Joren was tense, a low growl sounding deep in his throat, while Ravyre inhaled--tasting the scents of the approaching enemies.
Feren would remain on the Plains in the effort to keep the enemies from progressing any further--he was found up near the front, a few paces behind Aaron. Cayli, farther back, reached out to give the wolf-Sage a quick scratch behind the ears. A few other shapeshifters and acrobats were scattered out around them, all of which were to remain on the Plains.

A signal was given, and the troupes surged forward, each lurching into position and trudging where directed by the leaders of the operations. Those heading for Tymor slipped into the trees, and those staying on the plains readied themselves, building up speed as they rumbled toward the oncoming vampires. Nearer and nearer they drew to their enemies, each face adopting a grim, determined look, and each hefting their weapons as they prepared to meet the vampires and sorcerers head on. Thundered rumbled overhead, and was echoed by the warriors rushing to meet them from the north. Only a few hundred yards separated them now. The troupes from the south gave a roar of defiance, and plunged headfirst into the battle. Shouts and clangs were heard as the two armies came face to face, and then all chaos erupted around them.

Ravyre sprinted off with the others, cringing as she heard the sounds of battle erupt behind her. Joren didn't leave Alice's side, though cast a couple glances back to make sure his sister wasn't far behind. The female occasionally paused to check their surroundings before following after them.
The performers, elves, and the remaining vampires met the attack head-on, becoming engulfed in the battle. Cayli and a few other acrobats weaved their way between the fighting forms, sticking together in relative formation to bring down whoever or whatever they crossed.
