Name;
Samantha McAlear (Ma-clear)
Nickname;
Sam
Gender;
Female
Height;
5"4
Age;
17
Species;
Human.
Appearance;
~Sam~
Not exceptionally pretty, but most definitely not ugly. Sam has large brown eyes that are usually sparkling with happiness and a welcoming attitude. She always looks people in the eye, she is convinced that it is more respectful to look someone head on then to look away. Unless they are royalty or something of the like! Her hair is fairly long and is blonde. Her bangs fan out, ending just above her eyes, and her hair is always tied back by a ribbon.
She is a slim individual, something not uncommon in Zireling. For most of her youth she was given enough to eat to make her healthy, but not a scrap more. Her family wasn’t rich and couldn’t afford to buy more food then strictly necessary. She doesn’t look very strong and looks don’t lie –in this case. However, she does posses some degree of strength in her arms and back, coming from lifting books, cleaning The Written World and some other small task from when she was younger.
Still, her strength is nothing to be spoken of and is hardly more than that of your average woman.
Her skin is fairly pale, but has a healthy glow. It used to be quite a few shades darker, from working outside all day. But for the past two years she’s been working in a book store, therefore not receiving as much sunlight as she once did. She doesn’t mind though, she has more important things to worry about then the color of her skin. She has an oval shaped face; she looks her age –perhaps one year younger.
Generally, she is seen in a short, dark blue dress, with white cuffs and a white line running along the hem. When she gets to work, she puts on a white apron that she ties behind her in a nice bow. She wears white stockings and dark colored shoes –somehow the stockings have managed to stay white for the past year.
Where she ever to go to a special occasion, she has a longer version of the blue dress she normally wears.
Personality;
Samantha is a very friendly individual. She’s not afraid to approach people she doesn’t know – a tad nervous perhaps, but never afraid. Kind, outgoing and optimistic are all words which can be used to describe Sam. She gives 100% in everything she does, making her a very affective worker. She usually appears to be in a good mood, and any worries she may have usually only appear when with a select few. She is a pleasant individual, always encouraging others to do their best, but also cautious when others are around. She may be friendly, but she is not a fool, Sam knows very well that all sorts of creatures make Zireling their home –not all of them friendly.
Sam isn’t argumentative, but don’t take that to mean she is a push-over. If a disagreement were to occur, chances are she’d manage to take a step back, look at things from the others point of view and resolve the conflict shortly after. She is quite good at resolving conflicts –which is good, seeing as how she has no other way of staying alive when a fight breaks out.
History;
Samantha McAlear was born in Tymor seventeen years ago on May 21st. At the time of her birth, she already had two older siblings: a brother, Richard who was four years old at the time and a sister, Marissa who was two years old. Her mother was named Sharon and she was just a normal, everyday person, nothing special about her at all. Her father was called Wayne; he was just as common as her mother.
At the age of four, she found herself with two more siblings. Two younger brothers to be exact: Timothy & Dylan, twin boys, one of which would end up inheriting the McAlear property. Life was simple; Richard helped their father out in the fields, while Marissa helped their mother with the housekeeping, and taking care of Samantha, Timothy and Dylan.
At the age of eight, Sam started learning how to cook and keep a house. Richard was off at the castle, he was a squire, in training to one day, become a knight of the kingdom. Marissa had developed a skill with needle and thread, and was apprenticing under the village’s seamstress. Tim and Dylan were at an impossible age and kept both Sharon and Samantha on their toes.
Her life was quite uneventful, they were not the richest of people, they earned some money from the things Marissa made, and from the pots her mother made. They also sold some of the food they grew, things needed to be bought and for that they needed money. So, the family was generally just given enough food to remain healthy. The twins were able to help Wayne with the crops –nothing extravagant, but combined with the care for their goat, pig and chickens; it was quite a bit of work.
At the age of 15, quite a bit changed. Her elder brother, Richard had been injured while patrolling the city. Stabbed in the back, or something of the like, he was 19 at the time. Her brother had died without honor, he’d not even seen his attackers face. Needless to say it was quite a blow to the household, especially to Wayne and Marissa. Wayne had never thought anything would happen to his eldest son, while Marissa had been particularly close to him. Marissa moved out a few months later, the seamstress had spent years training the girl and wanted her at the shop all the time. The money she earned now paid for her room and board, so now the McAlear family had lost two sources of income.
Sam was starting to become a burden to the family. She was the eldest female daughter, was quite intelligent and has no particular skill at anything. She needed a job, and got one right before her 16th birthday at The Written World. The bookstore became like her second home –but she loved the store more then her actual home. The twins were becoming a nuisance, nobody could remember which one had been born first and so the next in line for the McAlear property would be whichever proved the more useful and responsible.
The last year of her life has been quite uneventful, she’s kept her job at The Written World, she helps Thanh stock shelves and generally just makes sure the place is tidy. She greets every customer that comes in with a friendly greeting, requesting that if they need help to go see Ms. Thanh, or is she is busy, to come see her.
Family;
Marissa McAlear: Mother, she is 49 and does all the housekeeping of the house. She is a quiet woman, but stands up to her husband if she opposes something her does.
Wayne McAlear: Father, he’s 52 and is the head of the household. He had not expected his first born to die and now doesn’t know which of his two remaining sons will succeed him. He is a strict man, but holds Marissa dear to him. He is going to die soon, he is weary of life since Richard died but refuses to die before he’s chosen the next head.
Richard McAlear: Eldest brother. He was 19 when he died.
Marissa McAlear: Elder sister, she is 19 and has a great skill with needle and thread. Sam and her were never close, Marissa pretty much despised her sister, thinking her useless and good for nothing.
Timothy McAlear: Brother, he is 13, he looked up to Richard, but wasn’t really affected by the death of the brother he’d only met a few times. He wants to become a blacksmith and because of this wants to succeed his father. He is convinced that Dylan would do something to prevent him from reaching his goal.
Dylan McAlear: Brother, he is also 13 and is his brother’s twin. He secretly has no interest in being left in charge of the McAlear family, but since he seems to be the more responsible, might very well end up being head of the household when his father dies.
