Nyra accepted it, draining the vial in one gulp, cringing at the taste. "Thanks..." she murmured, looking at the clear glass vial at her fingertips. Finally, she handed it back, but couldn't force herself to lay back down. Instead, she rested her head back on her knees, staring off at the tent walls across from her.
Meanwhile, lurking in the trees nearby, Rayne studied the positions of those within the small base. She smirked, satisfied that she'd managed to find the camp of the enemies. Beforehand, after helping with the surprise aspect of the invasion at Tymor, she and her group had departed for the Plains. After ordering the others to aid with the fighting, she'd left in search of this place. She knew they would have established a base somewhere. Peeking out from the bag strapped around her shoulder was the fox-creature. It squirmed from within the enclosures of the cloth case, a sudden wave of restlessness overcoming her. She sensed something...and she had the strange impulse to pursue something unknown.

The healer tucked the bottle away again, and glanced toward Varen. "Call me if she wakes up and needs anything," she instructed, nodding to indicate Jaclyn. "Or if either of you need anything." With that, she dipped her head, and treaded off down the row of cots.
Eden stood guard near the edge of camp, leaned up against a tree with her arms crossed over her chest. Her head was low, but her eyes angled upward, flicking this way and that as she watched and listened for disturbances. Her other senses were working just as hard of course, and that stupid little vampire chick stalking the camp wasn't paying attention to the fact that the wind was blowing the wrong way, and anyone with a keen enough nose could smell her, plain and stinky. Eden's nose wrinkled, and she shifted, straightening up and sauntering forward. She motioned to the other guard accompanying her, and they made their way quietly around behind Rayne, blocking her only escape route back into the forest. The other guards surrounded the camp, ready to catch her from that direction. It was as simple as catching an animal to cook and eat- the enemy had been foolish to come alone. In one switch movement, Eden lurched up behind Rayne, locking her around the shoulders with both arms. "Hey there, sweetie, how you feeling? Come to visit our healers? Well come on, then, let's go see who we can find." She grinned, motioned for her companion to help her, giving a rough tug on Rayne's stoney form back toward the camp. She didn't care if she had to drag the other vampire the whole way, Rayne wasn't going to get away very easily.

Nyra said nothing, and Varen nodded, switching his gaze back to Jaclyn again.
Rayne cursed...she hadn't been expecting vampires to be guarding the camp. She hadn't seen any when she'd double-checked the area either. She was still a little surprised that they'd even leave a couple behind, assuming that they'd want to send the ones who had better odds against enemy vampires out fighting with their own kind. She gritted her teeth, wiggling slightly in an effort to break free of Eden's hold--but the other female vampire was stronger. Narrowing her eyes, she reached for her gift, but found that she couldn't use it. She turned her head to see the second vampire, who offered her a smirk. He was blocking her abilities....his own specialty. Scowling, she let herself be led back to the camp, trying to come up with an escape plan while she was at it. As they got closer, though, the creature inside the bag grew even more restless--until it finally leaped out and scampered across the earth toward the tent where Jaclyn, Varen, and Nyra resided.

Eden kept a firm grip on Rayne's shoulders, pinning the vampire's arms to her sides as Eden dragged her into camp. Several other guards rushed up as they appeared- no one noticed the little fox disappear in all the commotion. "Found this one lurking around in the woods. What do you suppose we should do with her?"

Leon, the male vampire, shrugged when a couple looked at him. "She's the one who chased Joren and Alice back in Traveler's Meet. Remember, Eden?" He gave Rayne a sour look. "Can we just end her and be done with it? She's been getting on my nerves."
The fox-creature tottered into the entrance of the tent, peering around until it caught sight of Jaclyn's resting form. Something compelled it to continue forward--something it couldn't ignore. Varen glanced up, giving the thing a quizzical look as it climbed onto Jaclyn's cot, curling up at the foot of it. "What the..." The small creature looked up and growled. It wasn't about to be chased off.

Eden frowned. "Yeah, she's caused enough trouble. Someone build up the fire pit. Close all the tents- the smoke from the pyre will smell pretty foul." She wrinkled her nose, as if in anticipation. Her orders were carried out, and she dragged the struggling Rayne toward the flames, ready to finish the job. They reached the edge and... Something large and cold rammed into her from the side- the figure had flown from the underbrush like a stone thrown by a strong hand, colliding with Eden and knocking her sideways. The creature- another vampire, it seemed, ripped Rayne from her grasp, and, shoving and pulling moved his comrade back toward the forest. This was all done in the blink of an eye, and by the time Eden stumbled and regained her balance, they had disappeared.

Rayne frowned after she was able to regain her balance. "Good timing," she muttered, a bit too stunned to fully express any gratitude. "That was...close." Her hand moved to the bag at her side, checking... It was empty. She glanced back, scowling, but decided that it wasn't worth the risk to go back and try to find the missing creature.

Jarent caught his breath, bent partway over at the waist, and holding himself with one arm. He shook his head. "Way too close," he muttered in a low, husky voice. The vampire straightened, eyes finding Rayne's, locking there for a moment. "Come on, they'll probably try to follow us. We'd better get back to Tymor."

"Yeah..." She glanced back in the direction of the camp one more time before grimacing. "Right." Motioning for him to follow, she darted back off into the trees, heading back for the Plains, where she hoped to recollect her group and return to Tymor.

Ooc;; TIEM FORRRR TIEM SKIP!
Bic;; Jaclyn's eyelashes fluttered across her flushed cheeks, and she blinked a few times, clearing the groggy, herb-induced sleepy feeling in her head. She took a deep breath, and tried to raise her head slightly. Her vision swam, and she let her head drop back again, a low moan escaping her throat.

Nyra, by this point, had drifted off into an uneasy, restless sleep. She'd toss and turn occasionally before finally settling down for a few moments...then the process would repeat itself.
The fox creature sniffed, still curled up at the foot of Jaclyn's cot. Clearly it was displeased with frequent disturbances of noise outside and Nyra's occasional mumbles.
Varen, meanwhile, had remained still, his face etched with concern as his gaze flicked back and forth--between Jaclyn and Nyra. When Jaclyn surfaced from sleep, he went to get the healer as previously requested, then knelt down beside her cot. "Jaclyn..?"

Her eyes had closed again, but they fluttered open when Varen spoke. "Varen... where are we?" she croaked.

The fox creature's ears pricked up at the sound of Jaclyn's voice. It pulled itself into an upright, sitting position, watching both the Charter Mage and Varen.
Varen gave it a quick look before drawing his gaze back to Jaclyn. "Safe. At the camp base." His voice was uneasy and muted, but still easily understood. "Are you alright? ...do you want me to get the healer over here?" Are you alright? No, probably not.

She grimaced. "No..." It was unclear as to which question she was replying. Jaclyn blinked, and squinted, focusing on the small furry form near her bed. "Who's this?"

Varen grimaced, but then glanced at the creature when she did. "Oh, this...? I don't know. It wouldn't leave, and it wasn't causing any trouble, so it's been allowed to sit there for the past hour."
The fox-creature's ears perked up a little more as it noticed the attention was returning back to it. With an excited squeak, it scrambled further along the side of the cot until it was nearby Jaclyn's shoulder.
