Rayne was waiting for them, with Niraih circling around her heels, seeming to sense Rayne's sense of unease. For the first time in a while, the vampire felt nervous...she couldn't explain why. She shook her head before raising it to see Selia approaching with two other vampires. Rayne knew both of them, though wasn't entirely familiar with the two the way she was with others. Still, she acknowledged Lia's selections with a nod. They looked like they were up to the role. Oh, yes. Her eyes slowly looked both of them over, though they lingered on Jarent for a bit longer. Rayne quickly looked away as soon as she realized what she was doing, and then glanced at Selia. "Okay, let's head out of the Dragonlands, then I'll fill you all in on what we have to do. I don't want anyone else here to know. Are you all ready to leave now?"

Jarent smiled lopsidedly, teeth flashing, and a twinkle in his eyes. He said nothing, but laughter was in his eyes. He nodded along with Selia and Lonan, but his eyes never left Rayne's face. But still, he was silent. "Sure. Let's go!" Selia replied, grinning eagerly.

Rayne reached down to pick up Niraih, tucking her safely into her shoulder bag. There wasn't a way that she could imagine the creature keeping up with them at that young of an age. Finally, after mentally running over their assigned tasks, she turned. After a quick motion to the others to follow, she darted away from the lair and into the other wary depths of the Dragonlands.

The three other vampires followed after her, swift and silent, easily keeping pace. Selia's wild red pigtails streamed out behind her as she ran, long legs stretching in great bounds. Jarent came after her, and Lonan took up the rear, keeping an eye out behind them as they got farther away from their home base, and deeper into unfamiliar territories.

Rayne continued to keep that pace, speeding through the secret trails that the vampires had established long ago. When she was assured that they were alone, she slowed and finally halted to a stop beside a small, cliff-like overhang. Niraih peeked out of the bag. "Alright, let's run over what we have to do," she began, glancing at each of them.

Selia stood up straight, face bright and alert. She smiled slightly when Rayne's eyes met with hers. Jarent just continued to grin, still not having said a word. Lonan crossed his thickly muscled arms, and stared at Rayne intently, brow furrowed slightly.

Rayne crossed her arms, wondering how exactly she'd begin. "I'm not sure if you two-" she nodded at Jarent and Lonan. "-are aware of this, but recently Joren had brought a new vampire to join Jane's group. Jane identified her as somebody who'd apparently caused us trouble in the past, and had her locked in one of the cells in the prison chambers. Joren later released her...and they both ran away." Rayne's eyes flicked to the ground. "Joren fought with me to distract me, and ran off after the other when Selia showed up. Jane's ordered me to go after them, and either bring them back or kill them. Understood so far?"

They all nodded in unison. Jaren's face was now thoughtful, pondering, and Lonan's was blank. Not much went on in his head, but he was useful in a fight, so Jane kept him around. Selia's eyes widened slightly, and her smile had disappeared.

Rayne noticed all of their reactions, and let out a short sigh. "We need to get that accomplished first," she informed them. "Then, we have two other things left to do, in no particular order...I depends on how close to which target we are. There have been reports of a group of sorcerers that have formed deeper into the Dragonlands, and a charter mage that resides in Traveler's Meet. We need to gather information on both of them, and report back to Jane. Any questions?"

Selia glanced at the other two, but they both shook their heads. She glanced back at Rayne, and smiled. "How shall we start?"

Rayne stroked the top of Niraih's head with a finger, thoughtful. "This is where we'll need a plan. Selia, Jarent-you're both good trackers, right? I need you two to help us get on a trail. From there, we'll continue to head wherever it takes us. Once we are aware of their location, we'll form a solid plan for an ambush."

Selia nodded, and looked back to Jarent. He dipped his head in consent, expression still thoughtful. "Should we split up, then?" He finally spoke, his voice soft and husky.

Rayne looked at him and blinked. "Yes. Selia, you take Lonan and search for a trail in that direction-" she pointed farther down the trail. "-and Jarent and I will search the area farther back to make sure they didn't change course on their way out. Sound good?"

Selia gave one more shake of her head, and saluted Rayne with mock military stiffness. "Yes ma'am!" Jarent smirked at this, and nodded his agreement as well. Lonan raised an eyebrow at Lia, and she grinned at him. "Let's go!" She darted off the way Rayne had pointed, and he lumbered after her at a slower pace, but still too quick to be human.

Rayne watched them leave, then turned and began to head off in the other direction. "Come on!" she called back at Jarent. She wasn't what anyone would consider one of the top trackers in Jane's band, and she hoped that he would be able to take it from here in terms of finding the start of a trail. She also hoped that neither Joren nor Alice were good at hiding a path.
