Jarent sped up, taking the lead as he slipped into tracking mode, his eyes darting about, seeking any signs of a trail. After a while, he apparently found what he was looking for, because he sped up, and changed direction, apparently following the trail he had crossed. He slowed after a few yards, and nodded in grim satisfaction. Jarent glanced back for Rayne, and called, "Found it. They're headed south, back toward the Mainlands."

A strange glint entered Rayne's gray eyes as she looked ahead, then she turned back. "Alright, wait here. I'm going to go find the others, and then we can follow the trail." With that, she ran off back toward the location where the group had parted.

Selia had turned back as well, and spotted Rayne heading toward her as she retreated to the spot where they had broken up. "We found an old trail farther north of here, back near the caves, but we lost it in the geysers. Find anything fresher?" she asked when they were closed enough. Lonan lumbered up behind her, silent and expressionless as ever.

Rayne nodded, smirking. "Jarent found a trail...it's probably fresher because it draws a clear route south. C'mon." Then, she turned back again in the direction that she and Jarent had taken only minutes before.

Selia nodded, and loped swiftly after her, long legs ctaching up to Rayne easily, and keeping pace with her. Lonan trailed a little behind, ambling along with the look of a grizzly bear hunting for food.

When they finally came back across Jarent, Rayne stopped. Her expression was unreadable as she looked toward the trail again, then back at Jarent, Alice, and Lonan. "Alright," she finally said in an icy tone. "Let's go."

Selia gave a swift nod, her eyes wide and serious. Jarent smirked at the younger vampire's attitude, but also stayed silent. When Lonan had caught up, he made a gruff, nonverbal sound of agreement. Jarent took the lead again, heading down the invisible path that Alice and Joren had left.
