Jarent slowed from his inhuman, blurred speed and looked around. They were near the joining point of the roads, having traveled south for a ways, out of the Dragonlands. He glanced over his shoulder, calling the words to his companions. "It looks as if they're headed South for a while. We could stop by Traveler's Meet and take a look around there before we continue after them."
Meanwhile, coming from the opposite direction, Alice pranced along the path, all cheerful and smiling as they headed toward Traveler's Meet. It seemed she could never stay down for long, even in such dreary weather as had come upon them a few hours ago. The clouds were flocking, and threatening rain, but on the upside, it meant the vampires were at less of a risk of being discovered. She looked back for Joren, flashing him a grin. "We're almost there!"

Rayne slowed beside him, her eyes glinting with a distant expression, her gaze fixed ahead. She surfaced from her trance when Jarent spoke, and nodded in agreement at his words. The main entrance to Traveler's Meet drew closer.
Joren smirked back, though something nagged at the back of his conscience...something wrong. He dismissed the thought...it was probably just the weather. A storm looked like it might be coming..and though he didn't know it, in more ways than one.

Alice held his gaze a moment longer, her smile sweetening, and she turned away a beat late. If she'd been able to, she would have blushed, but she acted as if nothing had happened, and continued forward, footsteps light, seemingly weightless.
Jarent gave a curt nod in return, and started forward again. He drew his cloak farther around him as they entered through one of the several large arched gates that let into Tarveler's Meet, each connected to one of the main roads. It was hardly necessary, as the clouds provided plenty of protection, but he still felt wary.

Joren drew his gaze away, and continued forward until they, too, entered through the large entrance and into the busy roads. The hood to his cloak was drawn over his head, shadowing his face as he glanced around at the many stands and stores.
Rayne, already concealed in her own cloak, followed after him, walking at a normal pace as they entered Traveler's Meet. Her eyes narrowed at the memory of her last visit. She continued to walk until they found themselves in a large, circular space where all of the roads eventually joined together. A fountain was in the middle, and several stands were set up along the sides of it by the many traders and merchants.

Alice blinked, and followed Joren's example of pulling on her cloak, she scowled as she had to draw up the hood. But her mood lightened once more as they entered the town, coming up to the central marketplace.
Jarent's nose wrinkled, and his eyes narrowed, homing in on the two figures who had just appeared on the other side of the market circle. He nudged Rayne, and gestured toward them.

Joren looked around, overwhelmed by the various sights and smells that this place conjured. However, he stopped dead in his tracks as a few familiar scents hit his nose. His eyes instantly moved to the four cloaked figures on the opposite side of the market circle.
Rayne's eyes widened at Jarent's touch, and she quickly raised her head to see what had caught his attention. Her gaze grew cold as it narrowed in on the two figures. Thunder rumbled overhead.

Jarent's muscles hardened as he prepared to dart forward on Rayne's command. His eyes flashed from her to them and back, waiting for a signal. On either side of him, the others were poised and ready as well.
A low hiss escaped Alice's lips as she focused on the group of vampires across from them. Her fists clenched, her body tensed, and she mentally kicked herself. How couldn't she have seen it! Well, not matter now. She'd better pay attention...

Joren snarled, getting into a defensive stance. He kept his gaze on the four across the circle, occasionally looking back at Alice.
Rayne stared at the two, hardly noticing the stares they were starting to get from the human passerby. Finally, her glare locked with Joren's as lightning illuminated the skies above for a split second. Then, she flicked her hand in the pair's direction as a signal to the other three to attack.

Alice's eyes closed, and she raised a hand to Joren. "Back, out of the market," she whispered, words so fast and low that no human could hear them. Then, she was gone, disappearing in a blur of movement as she headed back the way they had come- which just happened to be down the street Jaclyn and Jyrra had previously lived on.

Joren darted off after her, swerving to avoid collisions with the passerby. His mind raced at the speed his body did. How were they going to get out of this mess?
Rayne followed close behind them, fueled with determination. They weren't going to slip out of her grasp so easily. Not this time.

Jarent, Selia, and Lonan sped after Rayne, keeping close on her tail as they pursued the other pair. Jarent came up beside Rayne, running shoulder to shoulder with her now. He flashed her a wild, humorless grin, and turned his gaze back to the chase.
Alice was running with her eyes half-slitted, focusing on their pursuers and where they were headed at the same time. She could plainly see that she and Joren wouldn't fair so well if they stopped to fight.

Rayne smirked back, though didn't slow down. She looked at Jarent, then glanced over her shoulder at Selia and Lonan. "Alright," she said in a quick, low tone. "You two take that opposite road. It'll curve and lead to the entrance they're headed for, and if you're quick, you'll make it there before them. Block them off."
Joren ran at Alice's side, trying to focus on what was ahead of him while trying to determine how close their pursuers were on their trail.

Alice gritted her teeth- even before Rayne spoke, she knew of the plan. She pushed harder and sped up, trying to tell if they could make it.
Selia and Lonan both gave swift nods and veered away, heading off in the direction she had ordered. Selia was flying now, hardly even touching the ground as she dashed to meet Alice. This was her specialty, and she was positively glowing with the chance to prove her skills.

Rayne rapidly sped up as another low rumble of thunder tore through the sky. The wind picked up, whipping against her face. Then, she raised her hands, which had taken on their eerie orange glow. She concentrated, sending several stands, barrels, and wooden crates crashing on the road in front of Joren and Alice in an effort to slow them down.

Alice's hand flashed out to grab Joren's, and she dragged him out of the way of some flailing object. She neatly dodged another flying something, and tore down the street at top speed, darting here and there to avoid Rayne's projectiles. The gate was in view by now, and Alice made a desperate sprint for it. Out of nowhere, Selia appeared, grinning wildly, and blocking their path out.
