"Aleron, I'm tired," The bright eyed fairy whined, her body sagging in midair and the miniature sword held in her hands drooping down past her knees. "I don't wanna fight squirrels anymore..." She pouted, flitting over to her companion and lighting on his armored shoulder. "They're getting too easy." "We need to find something stronger for you to fight, then, Licia," The man finally spoke. He was leaning against a tree, his eyes closed. "Maybe you can practice your magic." "Alllllyyy...." She continued moping, hugging him around the neck to try and extract some sympathy. He opened his eyes halfway, watching her from the corners. She caught this, and used it as an opportunity to puppy-dog-pout, looking up at him with those pleading, pretty blue eyes. "Pleeease, Aleronnn?" She hugged him tighter. "...fine, fine, just..." He sighed. "Just get off me, please," She released him and took a sheepish step back, appearing apologetic- she was giddy on the inside. "In that case, I'm going to practice," He sighed and stood, sliding a long, slim sword from a gold and green-blue sheath. She nodded, fluttering over to a tree root to take a seat. Propping her elbows against her knees and her head in her palms, she sighed dreamily, watching as Aleron began his practice. His movements were fluid and smooth, yet sharp and sudden all at once. Licia had always loved how graceful Aleron was. To her, it was one of his perks. Another dreamy sigh escaped her.

Not far from Licia and Aleron, a figure darted through the trees, occasionally pausing to check her surroundings before advancing. What she was after was unknown even to herself. Perhaps it was the mere pursuit of an adventure, or a few hours to herself, away from the confines of her tribe. The elf stopped again, her gray eyes darting in every direction as they drew in sights of her surroundings. She was about to continue forward when the sound of one-- or two?--voices met her ears. Curiosity drove her in the direction they came from as she realized they weren't familiar. The sounds got louder as she approached her destination, and a man came into her view just as he began to run through a series of practice patterns with his sword. Raising an eyebrow, she proceeded to climb up the nearest tree--taking care that she wasn't heard--and perched on a branch hidden by leaves. She watched him, wondering where the other voice had come from.

"Aleron?" Licia squeaked, breaking the silence as she usually did between them. "Mm?" He mumbled, taking a swift turn and crossing his arms slightly, bringing his right arm slashing down when he stopped, before stepping into a different movement. He resembled a dancer, almost, and distracted Licia a moment before she cleared her throat and spoke again. "Well, um, what exactly are we doing here? I mean, this is the Erevan Ilesere mountain range, there's not exactly much to offer, 'cept perhaps some elves..." "Well," he began, finishing two more practice movements before sheathing his sword and wiping a few small sweat droplets from his forehead. "I'm not really sure," He shrugged, set down his sheathed sword, and began to undo the buckles on the armor on his arms and legs. "Whaaat??" Licia shrieked, waving her arms and pushing off from the root, landing on top of his head and leaning over to make upside-down eye contact with him. "I thought we had a reason to be here!" He shrugged again, looking at her through half-lidded eyes. "I guess I thought it would be fun," He replied plainly, setting the armor down by his sword and began to unclip the breastplate and shoulder guards.

The elf shifted her weight, debating whether or not to stay hidden or make her appearance known. When the fairy appeared, she raised her eyebrows, trying to recall any time she'd actually seen one. She then returned to her first thought, and would have decided to remain still if it hadn't been for the man's last statement. Rolling her eyes, she leaped down from the branch, landing with a soft thud in a cat-like stance. When she drew herself back up, she smirked. "Fun? Around here? You're joking."

"Well, yeah, the mountains has a lot to offer," Aleron tilted his head slightly towards her, completely unfazed. Licia, on the other hand, pitched a fit, jumped in surprised, then fluttered back down, grabbing a clump of Aleron's silver bangs tightly, protectively. She glared and this newcomer. "And who're you supposed to be!?" She already decided she didn't like this elf.

The elf laughed a bit, her eyes sparkling. "A lot to offer? What? Trees?" Then, her attention turned to the fairy, and a small frown crossed her expression. "I apologize for not introducing myself first. I'm Mirah of the Neverian Elf Tribe."

Aleron bowed his head a little in greeting, Licia huffed and crossed her arms, looking away. "I'm Aleron Tharcia, and this is Licia. We're from Caoidhean," He replied, noting that they were from out of country. "And," He began, tilting his head again. "There's more to the mountain than you may think. An elf of all people should know that," He shrugged again.

"Yes, I know that. I was kidding, but when you've lived here all your life you start wondering what other places are like--what other kind of wonders are out there. This place is just natural for me, I guess." She shrugged with a small smile, wondering faintly why the name 'Tharcia' sounded familiar.

"Then..." He watched her without much interest. "Go traveling. Find the wonders for yourself," He smiled faintly, and Licia made a noise similar to a growl, noticing this.

Mirah shook her head. "I've considered it before...but I'm not entirely sure where I'd go, either. That, and I'm expected to stay here...you know--to help look out for my own people." She gave Aleron a questioning look. "However, for you to have come this far, I assume you've been to many places, yourself. You and, quite possibly, Licia up there. Am I right?"

Licia's grip tightened on Aleron's bangs, and she nodded stiffly. "We've traveled from the docks of Valkur along to here. Truth be told, we're just kind of wandering. Learning the cultures and such," A loose shrug. "Licia and I've been traveling together since we were very young." Licia smirked and fluttered onto his shoulder, hugging him around the neck again. "That's right! Virtually inseparable, he and I!" She boasted, running her hand down his cheek. Aleron seemed not to have noticed, or cared.

"That's exciting," Mirah said with a small smile. "So your journey brought you here...to the mountains. I guess I can be the first to welcome you, then."

"Thank you kindly," He bowed slightly in respect. Licia crossed her arms and huffed, looking away. She had narrowed her eyes to slits, and glanced at Mirah out of the corners. She did not like this girl. In truth, she didn't much like any girl.

Mirah blinked at this gesture, and then shifted her attention to Licia. What's her problem? The elf frowned slightly, but turned bac to Aleron. "My pleasure," she replied, a bit quieter.

He wondered vaguely why she showed no gesture in return, but brushed it off, remembering that one, this was the mountains and she was an elf, it was probably likely she'd never heard of him before, and two, maybe elves had different customs? He was curious now.
