Mirah offered another small smile, then glanced up the sky, which was beginning to darken slightly. "It's getting late. Where were you two planning on staying over the night, if you don't mind me asking?" Her voice was polite, still a bit confused at the gesture of greeting he'd offered her. Normally, among her people, a form of greeting such as that was reserved for only those of the highest status. She wasn't entirely sure how to respond to it, but her own curiosity was sparked a bit as she wondered if that form of greeting was more common elsewhere.

He shrugged. "Maybe a clearing where we could set up camp. This spot seems nice. Good coverage, soft grass, and I think I hear a stream over that way," He pointed and shrugged. "Would it be acceptable if we were to start a small fire to cook dinner...?" With every different place he went, there seemed to be a different set of etiquette. He had to be sure.

Mirah shrugged. "I'm sure it'd be fine, as long as you keep an eye on the fire and prevent it from spreading. We value the life of the mountains here, and the living things that grow and inhabit it." She glanced around the small clearing, and another small frown crossed her face. "However, it would be rude of me if I didn't offer you shelter with my tribe for a night or two. We always have spare treehouses and huts for guests. You'd be more than welcome to join us, so long as you don't mean us or our surroundings harm."

He blinked twice, then nodded. "Alright. Thank you very much, then," He glanced at his stuff, then pulled the chestplate and shoulder blades back over his head. "Should we be leaving now or later?" Licia's eyes were wide and her jaw hung open, before clenching her fists and seething silently, unhappy with this decision.

"Of course," Mirah said in return, waiting as he prepared to leave. "We should probably head back now. It's a bit of a hike to the camp, and I'd prefer to get there before it gets much darker."

"Yes'm," He replied softly, leaving his arm and shin guards off, tossing them into his pack. With a quick motion, he had the bag settled on his back, ready to go. Licia repositioned herself, lighting onto the top of Aleron's head again.

"Alright, then let's go." With that, the elf started off into the trees, following a trail that would have been considered non-existant to those who didn't know the land well. She glanced back occasionally to make sure Aleron and Licia were close behind.

Aleron followed a little more sedately on the ground, but kept up for the most part.

When they'd covered a fair amount of ground, Mirah slowed her pace, falling in beside Aleron. "So, if you don't mind me asking..." she glanced at him, curious. "You mentioned you were from Caoidhean, right? What exactly did you do there before you started to travel?"

He thought a moment. "Nothing, really. I helped make decisions, mostly in that of warfare, but I'm the third son, so I'm not given the responsibility of... preparing, I suppose," He shrugged, and Licia tugged on one of his ears, hissing "Should we really be telling all this to a stranger??" He didn't reply, since he saw nothing wrong with it.

The elf gave him a bit of a quizzical look. "Of...preparing...?" She shrugged, but then another small smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. "So you were pretty important where you came from, weren't you? With all that matter about decisions..."

He nodded a little. "Yeah. Preparing to ah... take the family business, you could say," He glanced off to the side, and the faintest of smirks crossed his face. "And you could say I'm the smartest of the first three. My oldest brother definitely isn't the sharpest blade in the arsenal," He chuckled lowly, shaking his head. "But he'll do a good job..."

"So, because your brother's taking over the family business, you're free to travel?" Mirah asked, her voice betraying her sincere curiosity.

"Mm-hmm. Besides, if by some miracle, both he and Mihael die, then I'm better prepared to rule," He shrugged slightly, looking off to the side, taking careful note of the places they were passing. Licia glowered a little at Mirah, back on Aleron's shoulder.

Mirah didn't seem to notice Licia's glare. If she did, she kept any comments about it to herself. Meanwhile, her mind wandered over the things Aleron had told her. "Rule?"
