Nyra grimaced, but she refused to look away. Her eyes were hard and challenging as she looked between Xoran and Jane. She said nothing, and simply allowed her previous answer to remain the final one. I'm not going to increase their chances for success. Not when someone could get hurt.

Jane's sickeningly sweet smile turned to a grimace. Gritting her teeth, she reached forward with her mind, seeping into Nyra's, and bringing forth the idea of agony, which she knew would become all too real in a matter of seconds.

Nyra shivered, and Xoran released her arm, allowing her to fall to her knees. The sorceress clutched her head, biting her lip so hard that it started to bleed. A whimper of sorts escaped through her lips, and she closed her eyes tight as she tried to fight back the pain. It's just an illusion...just an illusion...

The intense concentration of Jane's gaze redoubled, and she was almost literally glaring daggers at the sorceress.

Nyra finally let out a sharp scream that echoed around the clearing and caused many to glance in their way--Varen among them. Most hadn't noticed the return of the other sorcerers, except for perhaps the ones at the front. Most of them had been gathered together, comparing strategies and ideas. Varen began to shove his way to the front, his heart racing, but he was stopped by Jyrra, who had reached out for his arm. "Stop. You'll only make things worse."
Nyra trembled, hardly daring to breathe. Xoran frowned as he looked down at the sorceress, his arms crossed and his eyes stoney. "You still won't say anything? Nothing at all?" She didn't respond to his words. Finally, the sorcerer muttered something under his breath--which could have been identified as a spell--, closed his eyes, and entered her mind, searching for information in the midst of her distraction with the pain. He only ran into hard barriers--protective walls that she'd automatically had thrown up around what he wanted to know. But there was one piece of information that she couldn't keep hidden...that sole piece that she couldn't stop thinking about even if she wanted to. Eager to find some sort of advantage, he read into the thought. Three figures, all seated on a bed. Nyra, an older woman, and... He snarled when he recognized Jaclyn. So that's where that Charter Mage was... "Life flickers in your body. Life that is not your own." "You will have help. It's not like we're all just going to abandon you. You have me, and Jamison..." The scene changed. Two figures were pulled into a hug--one was Nyra. The other was a young man. Xoran, when he was able to see the face of the one Nyra was with, couldn't help but notice how oddly familiar he was...and he quickly made a connection between his identity, Jaclyn's, and Jyrra's. "Our child." When he drew out of Nyra's mind, a smirk was present on his face. "Isn't that just interesting..." He glanced at Jane, a silent request for her to take a break.

Jane drew back, waiting, her gaze shifting between the two as she hovered eagerly above the crumpled form of Nyra. "What's so interesting?" she asked sharply.

Xoran glanced at Nyra, then let his chilly gaze flick back to Jane. "It so happens that I had another escapee--Jaclyn, I believe-- run off upon the discovery of a defective spell mark. Her sister, Jyrra, is the blind one still under my control." He motioned to the Charter Mage amongst the sea of faces, knowing Jane could easily pick out Jyrra with her advanced sight. "They were siblings, though to my knowledge they had another brother. A set of triplets. And all three were Charter Mages." When his attention turned back to Nyra, she was still shivering. "Jyrra's here, as I mentioned...and the other two are currently with the rebellion...If her mind speaks the truth, the brother's name is Jamison. Now, what I find interesting is the fact that he's to be a father. In other words, this traitor is pregnant."

Jane's nose wrinkled as if she smelled something foul. "These pests reproduce like rabbits. As if we really need another little trouble maker on our hands." She narrowed her eyes. "So, what do we do with her?"

Xoran remained quiet, thoughtful. "I don't think you take into consideration the possibilities for the child. With the parents as a Charter Mage and sorceress, there is no doubt in my mind that the child could turn out as powerful. We might even have another Charter Mage to put into play in the future. And Charter Mages these days aren't as common as they used to be." He glanced down at Nyra, then back at Jane. "You could even have the child as perhaps a future follower of your own when its old enough. Imagine having its abilities strengthened by the powerful status of a vampire, combined with the speed, strength, and the enhanced senses of one."

A thoughtful look crossed the vampire's face as she pondered this. "I suppose... But still, in the mean time, she is just a nuisance, and even when the child is born, it will be some time before it's worth anything."

He smiled. "Ah, but a few years to a vampire is nothing in comparison to your life span. Though you have a point." He looked out at the gathered army, his expression considering. "In the meantime...we'll have to wait. We have plenty of time to consider the situation after we succeed in our plans. And as for the sorceress..." His eyes fell on two figures standing off to the side--he recognized them in an instant as two of his closest followers. He summoned them over, and motioned down at Nyra. "Don't let her out of your sight, am I understood? If there's any trouble, you're to report to me." He then turned back to Jane. "Now, I think there's a few more matters to discuss...we're attacking the heart of the land, correct? Do we have a strategy?"

Jane nodded, turning her attention to Xoran once more. "Yes. We attack Tymor, overthrow them, and then spread out over the plains and forest. Head for Traveler's Meet next, and if we meet any resistance..." Her eyes glinted dangerously. "They will be destroyed immediately. No prisoners. No one who resists survives. No exceptions."

He listened, smirking slightly as she finished listing her strategy. "Very nice. Simple, yet effective. Now, how do you plan to divide the army? ...According to where they're meant to go?"

"Main force based in Tymor, and then spread out, down the Plains, to Traveler's Meet, and into the mountains. My fighters move more quickly on foot, but I'm assuming some of your mages can transport themselves across farther distances?" She glanced inquiringly at him. "Though I'm sure it must drain them somewhat. So, some of your strongest should go ahead to Traveler's Meet, and I will send mine down the Plains. I'm sure they will meet resistance there- the elves will surely be taking up arms in their mountains." A light scowl twisted her face as she paused in the rapid flow of thoughts. "I can't be certain we'll have the element of surprise, what with that psychic getaway probably watching our every move. We'll have to act quickly."

He considered this for a moment with a small nod. "I see. That will work." The sorcerer turned and motioned for Ricoda, who raised her eyebrows as she approached them. He then summoned another sorcerer, who was often regarded as 'second-in-command' by many of the others. He quickly gave them a brief summary on Jane's plan. "Organize different groups according to skill level and power within the sorcerers. I want a few stronger groups to remain stationed in Tymor when we arrive, but the others will be transporting themselves to Traveler's Meet. Ricoda, you're to stay in Tymor. You--" he addressed the other individual. "--are to lead the stronger groups to Traveler's Meet. Organize the others according to what you know about their strengths. Be quick about it, and get a few others to help you. Am I understood?" They both nodded.
