Nyra shifted off of her cot, leaning down to pull Jaclyn into a hug. Because both of them needed it--because they had both lost something so close to them. "I'm so sorry." She realized then how scared she was, through all the shock and pain...how much she needed someone--a friend.

Jaclyn clung to Nyra just as strongly, tears threatening to spill over onto her cheeks. Her voice was a hoarse whisper. "I am too..."

Nyra remained there for a few moments, unable to hold back the moisture from her eyes as it gradually crawled down her cheeks. The fox creature approached them, butting Jaclyn's elbow with its head--its own act of attempted consolation. Shivering slightly, the sorceress finally drew away to sit on the edge of her cot, biting her lip. Finally, when she spoke, her voice was hoarse. "Jaclyn...I need to tell you something."

Jaclyn blinked back her tears, and gazed up at Nyra. "Y-... yes, Nyra?"

Nyra's expression melted into an unreadable state as she crossed her arms, glancing off at the cloth tent walls for a moment before looking back at Jaclyn. "There are a lot of experianced healers with the sorcerers who are rather powerful...and it was easy for them to sense..." Her voice faltered for a moment, trying to form words out of her thoughts. "I'm having twins."

Jaclyn just stared for a moment, shock dominating her expression. She blinked. "Well... goodness. That's... a surprise." The young woman frowned. "How do you... feel about that?"

The sorceress let herself think this through for a moment, staring at the ground. When she looked back up, a faint smile played across her lips--sad, but still a smile. "Scared to death. But, oddly...almost happy. These are Jamison's kids as much as they are mine, and I will do anything and everything possible to keep them safe. But I just...don't know where I'm going from here."

Jaclyn frowned. "You can always stay with me in the shop... It might be a little lonely now."

Nyra blinked, surprised. "That's a really nice offer," she murmured. "And...I might have to accept it...at least until I figure out a solid plan. But..." She trailed off for a moment, her gaze wandering back to the ground. "I just don't want to burden you if these two should come before I sort things out...I'm fine taking care of myself, but I hardly know anything about children. I've never even held an infant in my life," she admitted, reaching up to brush a stray piece of hair behind her ear. What a mess.

The frown deepened, creasing Jaclyn's pale forehead. "What about... the elves? They would take care of you, and there are plenty of midwives and mothers who would help with your children..."

Nyra considered this for a moment, then nodded. "Yeah, maybe..." She bit her lip, glancing out the tent entrance. "That might even be the best idea, if they'll accept me. But...what about you? Are you going to stay in Traveler's Meet?"

"I-... I'm not sure." She stared down at her hands, thinking hard. It all really depended on whether or not she could find Jyrra again...

The sorceress frowned, looking over at the Charter Mage. Though it was still possible for one to return, she'd lost her siblings. And with a pang, she realized that the store they ran wouldn't be complete without all three there. Then she wondered what exactly Varen planned on doing, and felt a spark of guilt at accusing him earlier. Though it'd been the work of his hands, Jamison's death wasn't at all what he'd willed. There was a long, continued silence between the mage and sorceress, as Nyra realized that she'd been too caught up in her's and Jaclyn's conversation to notice that Varen wasn't there. Of course, she'd briefly noted his absence when she'd risen from her sleep, but she assumed he might have stepped outside for some air. "Where is he?" she said suddenly, sharply. "Varen?"

Still out of camp, Aleron and Licia fought on. "This is ridiculous," Aleron grumbled, currently locked in battle with a younger vampire. He felt like they were getting nowhere with this thing. Licia just worked on healing Aleron with each new scratch, bruise, and broken bone he received--even she didn't have anything to say, for once. "They just," Slice. "Don't," Stab. "Die!!!"

Jaclyn blinked at the outburst, a frown tracing across her features once more. "I-... I'm not sure. He said he was going to find Jyrra," she replied quietly, her voice laced with underlying concern.
